Elastic cord is the preferred choice for making beaded friendship bracelets because it’s comfortable and easily fits any wrist. However, if you’ve ever tried to tie a simple knot with elastic cord, you know it can be challenging. You don’t want the bracelet you just made to suddenly fall apart. Using a Surgeon’s Knot will make your bracelet more secure; that extra loop really helps.
Pro Tip: Always pre-stretch your elastic. If you don’t pre-stretch, the material will stretch over time and you will get gaps in your strung design.
To add extra security (and peace of mind) to your bracelet. A little drop of glue on the knot will go a long way. Make sure you use a flexible glue like our favorite GS- Hypo Cement.
