The Pot Holders, Pinchers, and More book is a top-selling book at Craft Warehouse for a good reason! This fun book is a source of darling and highly useful items for the kitchen that can all be made with small pieces of fabric. It’s a great way to show off your favorite scraps. Most projects are made in 1-3 hours and are great gifts that every recipient will rave about. They’ll be surprised how much they use them! The book contains both seasonal and non-seasonal decorative pot holders.
When our Design Team first got a hold of the book (see the adorable apron potholders we made last year) they were a bit dubious about the usefulness of the Pincher. It was a neat idea, but is it really something we’d use? Well, the answer to that was soon found out to be “Yes”! and “How did I live without it”! The Pinchers make it so easy (and safer) to grab a hot lid, a pan handle or even a cookie sheet out of the oven. They quickly became the most-used item in our kitchens.
These projects were made with the new vintage-inspired fabric collection from Riley Blake called Sweet Orchard, currently available in the store for Spring 2017.
HELPFUL ITEMS TO MAKE THESE PROJECTS EASIER OR INCREASE YOUR SUCCESS:
- Wonder Clips by Clover are very handy for dealing with the layers of bulk.
- A Microtex needle with it’s very sharp point is great for poking through all the layers.
- A walking foot for your machine is almost a necessity dealing with all the layers.
- Lastly, a Frixion pen or air erase marker is a big help for drawing grids or other designs to quilt.
