Make this: Bow and Knot Fabric Headbands

Fabric headbands are very popular now. Make your own fabric headbands and choose exactly the fabrics you want!

This is a low-sew project that would be fun for a new sewer and a great way to use up scraps. If you want to make this an all no-sew project, the Knot Headband would work best using only Fabric-Tac glue.

All supplies available at Craft Warehouse stores.

Bow Headband

Supplies:
– 2 Fat Quarters (one of each color will make 3 headbands)
– Thread to match
– Plastic Headband
– Beacon Fabric Tac Glue
– Sewing Machine
– Iron

Directions:
1. For the main headband cut fabric 17” x 5.5” and for the tie cut fabric 11” x 3.5”.
2. Fold both fabrics right sides together in half lengthwise and iron.
3. On the main headband-fabric sew seam down the side lengthwise
4. Turn fabric right side out.
5. Now cut a curve in the smaller fabric like in the photo.
6. Sew the outside raw edge leaving a 2” opening.
7. Turn the tie fabric right side out. Then sew up the hole.
8. Place main headband fabric onto headband and turn in each end so the fabric lines up with the head-band.
9. Glue main fabric to headband with the seam facing the headband.
10. Wrap the ends of the fabric around the headband ends and glue.

Knot Headband

Supplies:

– 1 Fat Quarters (will make 3 headbands)
– Thread to match
– Plastic Headband
– Beacon Fabric Tac Glue
– Sewing Machine
– Iron

Directions:
1. For the main headband cut fabric 21”x5.5”.
2. Fold fabric right sides together in half lengthwise and iron.
3. Sew seam down the side lengthwise
4. Turn fabric right side out.
5. Wrap Fabric around the top of the headband and tie in a knot.
6. Glue fabric to headband with the seam facing the headband.
7. Tuck in both ends of fabric.
8. Wrap the ends of the fabric around the headband ends and glue
